Effekt No.7 - Brings you the sounds of UK club music with a big dose of global inspiration when one of UK’s most talked about DJ’s takes over the floor - Mina - who’s debut album is just coming out. She’s a resident DJ at some of the hottest clubs and radio shows in England, as well as responsible for one of the most popular Boiler Room sets out there. Together with the Bryte from Ghana, a MC who features on several of her tracks they will deliver a mix of a DJ-set and a live concert.
The Black Box will be in the hands of Stockholm based HABIB1 who got the people talking after releasing the track ‘Technogäris’ - letting you know techno is made to have fun with.
Once again the beat-collective So&Such from Malmö got you covered with beats and sounds from all over the world.
Influenced by her love of afrobeats, dancehall and UK funky, Mina’s vibrant and melodic tracks fuse together all kinds of syncopated rhythms from around the world. Outside of the UK Mina has collaborated with vocalists and producers from Peru, Sierra Leone and Ghana, where she also ran a music production workshop for women, as well as recent tour stops in Mexico City, Paris, Oslo & Milan. Recognised by FACT Mag as a ‘producer to watch for 2016', Mina has garnered consistent praise from the likes of Branko, Toddla T, Jamz Supernova and Nina Las Vegas, serving only to further confirm her status as one of the UK’s most exciting rising talents. Now she’s about to release her first solo album - Flight Paths.
BRYTE (Live with Mina)
Bryte will join Mina for a live show this night! Since winning the Africa Unsigned talent search in 2012, Bryte has established himself as one of the most exciting voices coming out of Ghana in recent times. He has developed a global following due to his unique fusion of afrobeats, rap, funky and experimental club sounds. Bryte has collaborated with local artists such as Gafacci and FOKN Bois, as well as two tracks with the UK artist Mina, both of which have received international radio play on Radio 1, Beats 1 and 1Xtra.
HABIB1 (RAMADONNA B2B MOFIDY)
Stockholm based Ramadonna and MODIFY get together to turn Lund upside-down. Ramadonna is a former resident DJ at Backdoor and Kvarteret in Stockholm and MODIFY is one half of the producer duo ‘HABIB1’. Expect lots of rhythm, bass and vocals as they join for a rare Back2Back set. They’ll play everything from Kuduro, Baile Funk to harder electronic sounds. Maybe even play their track Technogäri live 17 times in a row. Who knows!?
The night will be held together with help from the hottest music collective of Malmö - So&Such - which is bounce guaranteed! Some of you might remember last time Mwuana was in town and So&Such teared down the club afterwards. Or earlier this spring when they teamed up with Branko & Pedro for an all nigher. Upfront music at the edge of today that more than happily visits all the corners of the world. As if this night needed more juice.
