PUSSY RIOT är ett ryskt protestkonstkollektiv baserat i Moskvas om grundades i mars 2011 och hade ett rörligt medlemsantal på cirka 11 kvinnor. Gruppen arrangerade otillåtna provokativa gerilla- punkrockuppträdanden på ovanliga offentliga platser, som sen gjordes till musikvideor och lades ut på Internet. Kollektivet tematiserar feminism, hbtq-rättigheter och motstånd mot Rysslands president Vladimir Putin, en diktator enligt kollektivet. Dessa frågor inkluderade också Putins band till den ryska ortodoxa kyrkans ledning.
En viktig fråga för medlemmarna i Pussy Riot är att stödja Ukraina.
Den 23 maj kommer Pussy Riot till Mejeriet med sin prisbelönade show Riot Days.

The political situation became more and more restrictive in Russia in 2022, so it is important to give voice to the protest of the collective PUSY RIOT, especially abroad. National critical media are banned, FB and IG now also closed in Russia, protest only with the book "War and Peace" in hand leads to a four-week prison sentence. Stalinist methods have taken hold in Russia and for many critical voices only escape or prison remains. Support for the protest is thus becoming more and more urgent for us. Pussy Riot has warned of this already 10 years ago, what has now come to pass and their most ardent wish is that all oil and gas imports are stopped, so that with finally sustainable pressure can be exerted on Putin. On their tour through Europe, which started in May 22 and goes until November they play at the most different places like the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Casa da Musica Porto or for example the ART Basel or the Theaterspektakel Zurich as well as festivals and club as well as theater.
PUSSY RIOT is a Russian protest art collective based in Moscow. Founded in March 2011, it had a variable membership of about 11 women. The group staged unauthorized provocative guerrilla punk rock performances in unusual public places, which were made into music videos and posted on the Internet. The collective's lyrical themes included feminism, LGBT rights, and opposition to Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom the group viewed as a dictator. Those issues also included Putin's ties to the leadership of the Russian Orthodox Church.
